It has been a while since I was last on the forum, this was mostly down to the fact that my iMac was broken and in repair at Apple.

The screen had developed a thin line all down it, so I rang them up to see how much it would cost?

I expected a lot as I was out of warranty since I have had it for 4 years… and it was expensive! £369 for the repair :( :( :( :(

But, they would do it for FREE!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Not bad! It was meant to take 5-7 working days, well it didn't, but not really surprised as it is Christmas, so they would be more focused on sales than repairs etc.

Got it back today after 25 days (delayed mainly due to them breaking something else, so they had to order in parts, then snow delays, etc.) and the final total was £897.71 inc. VAT!!!!!

But, the cost to me, £0!!!

I had to wait a while, but considering it looks as good as new, and all my files are where they left them, which was a relief as I had forgotten to back anything up!

Just thought they deserved a good word as I cannot believe it to be honest. I swear it was less than that new!

Nice to hear.

That said I have heard very bad things about their customer service for ipods. It took Apple ages to realise they needed to offer a replacement battery. They figured that after 200 charges (the life of the battery), you would just buy a new ipod. Idiots.

It is thick snow near me, and we had to dig out the drive one day, but really it is fine!

Unfortunately still a good 3-4 inches of the snow left though, so no golf!! Now, 6 weeks since I last played!!

Apparently, it is worse near you??

This sounds like good news. My son has a Mac that is 4 years old and he said yesterday that he was hoping to get a Macbook next year. He has had no problems at all with the Mac. Not a hint of a virus. He had it originally as it suited what he needed to do - digital video editing - for university.

On this basis, we would recommend them to anyone.
