Anyone use Callaway hex black or chrome balls ?

No and wouldn't want to. Have a loathing of Callaway balls even the premium offerings. Way too hard off the putter for me. Plenty of better offerings in my opinion. I tried the Tour I(s) which was supposedly the softest ball they did before this new range and it still didn't do anything for me.

i regularly game the hex black tours, i love them excellent around the greens and with my irons, woods driver etc isnt loud like the 20xi's bit on the expensive side new so i usually get a few bargins on flebay for pearl grades

Currently use Hex Black but having had a video lesson recently, my spin rate is such that these are a bad choice for me.

PM me your address and I'll pop you one in the post when I'm next at the post office (might be a while!)

I had a dozen of these and really rated them, plenty of distance, not too spinny off the driver but enought control around the greens and I loved them to putt with. That said, bear in mind my handicap with this opinion and whilst I found them a great ball, I do not use premium balls very often and someone with a lower handicap than mine may find that other premium balls are a better option

Love them right until I'm around the green when they are just too firm for my liking. That said tee to green I've played my best golf with them. Longer and straighter than all the other premiums I've tried RX, RXS, 330S, ProV1x and Z Star

Not tried the HEX chrome or black but I'm developing a bit of a liking for Callaway balls. Been playing the HX Diablo Tour the last couple of months which is a cracking ball for the price and picked up some Tour i(s) cheap which I quite like as well.

I only play with Hex Black Tours now since getting them with my subscription back in September.

Love them off the tee, chipping around the greens and putting.

Played my best golf just before and during the Blackmoor meet with them and have no intentions of playing with anything else.

Hex Black Tour is a great ball in my opinion, I much prefer it to Pro V as I think it goes through the wind better and is long. Only drawback is it is very soft and a cleanly struck wedge or two can rip it to pieces. The older Callaway premium balls were 'clicky' off the face, this ball is a different beast all together.

Used them, liked them. Still didn't shift the tried and trusted Z-STAR as ball of choice though.

Like some have said, they're a bit clunky round the greens. Feel quite firm and give not a lot of stroke feedback..
i use the penta tp5. They're soft around the green but they do tend to scuff/cut up after a round or two.
the Nike 20xi balls are the only ball proven to give 3-4 mph extra ball speed with the new core.
ive got a sleeve of the tour one rzn balls and they're awesome, look out for them hitting the shelves next week.

Both too hard for me. Hex Black very good ball but can't stand sound and feel off driver. Chrome is a rock!

Found a Callaway I liked the other day called HX Tour 56.

Not a fan of nike balls. I don't mind a ball that scuffs up as long as it performs, I change my ball a couple of times per round anyway. A couple of good wedge shots with a pro v will mean a new ball anyway.

I got 2 dozen HEX black from GM towers. (12 for subscribing and 12 for being on the reader editor team) Have lost far to many of them but I really like them. At my level of play I just can't justify the money on them when I can get Dx3's so cheap. I found it more clicky of the putter than a Pro V1 but didn't mind that because compared to the PD soft I had been using they were like butter.

I really liked them of my driver and found it better than a Pro V1 for my swing. Still sliced it a lot but not nearly as much of course as a Pro V. (I'd probably be better with a Pro V1x)

Where I really noticed the difference was my wedges. I may be a 22 HC but even I could tell the difference in response between these and cheaper balls. When I made good contact I felt it and the response on the green was somewhat surprising. Where before I could let my PD soft bounce and roll out these were stopping quickly. Even managed my first ever true backspin with one. To be fair though the downside is the ones I had to put in the bin due to the nice smile I left on them.

If I can get myself consistent and start dropping the handicap a little then I would definately consider buying them.

Not keen - too hard feeling. Chrome the harder of the two.

Penta feel best. then NXT Tour S. then Z-Stars, Bridgestone Premium 'S'

Pro Vs are either too soft and spinny/bitey or too hard/unworkable. My preference is in middle/combo of these two 'extremes', which is where the ones above fit.
