That is just silly skills, I couldnt even dream of being that good.
I learned classical back in 2nd year in school but gave up as I preferred to play footy. This year I bought a second hand Cort G200 from a workmate, so far I can do the main bit of Peter Gunn, smoke on the water main bit, some odds and ends of the red hot chili peppers and this is the one I really want to get right and can do the starting section but havent gotten it down well enough to move to the next bit yet.

I restrung an old classic guitar of mine and started practicing again couple of weeks ago, i want to learn flamenco style, so far its been a v slow process.!

I play guitar, well I try anyway...rofl, not to mention Bass & mandolin.

The guy in your U-tube clip was very good, though I found it after a time to be a bit repetitive.

If anyone liked the skill shown in the original clipto search out Piere Bensusan as he is a true guenious, melding elements of Folk, flamenco, classical & jazz togetherin his own enimitable fashion, wellwoth a listen. He plays in DADGAD a lovely tuning

Now my favorite tune by him is a number called "The Welsh Arrow". Though struggling to find a good postable link for that track.

Might have done this before??

But these two are very good. They've also done covers in their own style of Led Zep, Metallica.

I think that what all this kind of music shows is that there is more to playing a guitar than playing it badly and letting the sustain, compression, reverb and delay hide the bum notes.

Wish I was only half as good!

Well it's only practice which = time = something I haven't got enough of!

I started playing again this weekend after giving it up for 5 years.
Bought an electric guitar / amp and various stuff from a bloke at work on Thursday.
Previously it was all acoustic stuff but when my first child came along I didn't have the time and couldn't play quietly enough to practice without waking the baby so I gave it up.

My fingertips are bloody killing me today! :D

Not touched my electric or acoustic for 5 or 6 years. Though recently started the acoustic again, and my 2 year old loves it. He found my harmonica in the guitar bag and started playing that!

I know what you mean about sore fingertips. Perhaps I should get a nylon stringed acoustic as it would be easier on the fingers.

For anyone that plays electric I would suggest this bit of kit:-

Play all you like, plug in an ipod and rock till the early hours withut annoying the neighbours. Wander round the room cable free. The patches are great, the key specific bassline patterns work well for practicing phrases and the phrase capture memory that you can slow down but keep in key is a stroke of genius for getting to grips with all of those runs.

Ive got a Marshall 15 watt micro stack hooked up to a Line 6 Pod Pro rack, assorted pedals, a four way patch floorboard and a mixer and 99 times out of 100 this little box is better!

Just wish I had the little beast ten years ago.
