As stated, ive just moved into new place with the misses, and we hve been advised that the property is limited to bt only service as the management company have not allowed cable t to be wired, nor satalite dishes to be installed.

According to the landlord, we have to have BT as a phone supplier, but apparently BT internet is not a requirement as we can have plus net as they are owned by bt, and this will still provide us with BT vision, can anyone confirm this????

Also, BT vision, is it me or is it just recordable free view, im really strugglng to find any sort of benefit dispite loads of google searching.

Thanks in advance,
no socks as their in the wash ;)

We've been with BT for 2 years (....Nearly) and to be honest, it's shocking!! All 3 services (T.V, Broardband and phone)

We switched from Sky and it's the worst thing we ever did!!!

When we took out the package December 12th 2010. We couldn't get the internet until 30th January 2011 and as a result we had no "On Demand" service as this runs through the home hub.

We've had issues on and off throughout the whole term of the contract and when you do get through to their call centre in Bangalore (No Joke that's where it is) you cannot understand them and they offer only the help you can get online in the help section of the website (Which you cant access if you're calling to report a broardband issue  )

We have issues with the phone and constantly get a "dead line" through the hub.

All in all a shocking 2 years that I cant wait to end in December this year, then it's back off to Sky for the Phillips household.

If you want anymore info OS just ask

I have been with BT for just over 8 years for phone and broadband. 2 years for BT Vision. Had 2 problems in all that time. Once the phone point on the wall went faulty and they came out next day and fixed it actually installed a dual dsl/phone point.
The other was just after having the Fibre Optic and BT Vision added to the package and the little socket things that carry the Internet from 1 electric socket beside the hub to the electric socket beside the TV went faulty and an engineer came out the next day and replaced them, which could have been done by post really.

It is pretty much recordable freeview with the addition of BbcIplayer, 4od, 5od, Itv Player, ESPN for a 1 off fee of £10, you can also add Sky Sports 1+2 for an additional fee, then there is the other on demand stuff.
Movies, full Seasons of various TV shows, various kids shows, music etc. now it is older movies and likely TV shows that would have been on Sky last year, but you get the whole season to watch when you choose(usually available for 3 months. Then you have the box office movies similar to what sky have. For £12.50 a month it's worth it compared to Sky prices.

The other thing you could do which I have done is get the Sky Go details from a family member or good friend and watch sky free on an Xbox with a Live subscription.

I have a BT landline with PlusNet as my ISP. I have BT inifinity branded as PlusNet and its been excellent, cannot fault it.

I'm thinking of telling Sky that I'm moving away from them, could go freeview now its in the area or it could mean that it will just shock Sky into slashing the monthly bill which is currently £52!

people power can get the management to get a communal dish up, also you can all get together set up a neighbourhood watch scheme then vote the management company out. (fist clenched in the air 'power to the people')

Give me a shout when you are switching and I'll sort something out for you mate

I'm sure it's against human rights not to allow a satellite dish to be installed... Pretty sure someone took a management company to the EU court thig and won and now they can't stop you... But think this may of been on a new build prob not sure...
We got bt its ok but annoying sometimes
