Anyone have a golf net in the garden ?

I haven't yet. But... I'm in the process of building a putting green and I thought about a driving net, but baulked at the £320 price. Mate of mine is a pipefitter welder so he's going to put one together for me for £50 and a suitable net can be bought for £30...

i bought one of ebay last summer, does the job well. left it outside the whole time and still in perfect condition. was about £40. i'll try and find it later and link it up

LOL, has it come to that Patrick? I don't have to worry about raised beds, no plants in my garden (other than trees and bushes that I can't kill with my reaper-like gardening skills)...
Can't wait til the putting surface is ready, although the heave rain last week has set it back.

well its only justed ended up there a few months ago when the wife started planing veg in them. Before that i was rotting behind by Cider shed.

Its Quite a big one and covers all 3 beds, prob the most expensive garden netting going;)

I have one in my garden and a drigving range mat (dont forget that or your grass gets chewed up)
i really only use it now when i am looking to try to get back on plane otherwise i go tot he range.

i prefer to see the ball flight .

The wind brought mine down as wasnt a full driving net like at the club and would i buy another one

yeah probably but would go for a full size now.

Yep, got a good heavy full-sized range mat for about a tenner and a net you construct much like a tent, both from ebay, can put link up if you like, they're £40 new I got mine for £12 second hand. I've only had a chance to use it a few times, but it's a nice option to have tucked away in the shed if I'm too tired to drive to the range. If I do a bit of chipping down the garden I do so off the mat, handy enough. Of course it's better to see the ball flight but you still know if you've flushed one or hit one thin etc. I got it for getting warmed up before I go to the course but weather hasn't been kind this year and I wasn't going to get wet before going out and getting wet.

Any chance of a summer? Might see more usage then.

Show us the link please, might be the one i was looking at on ebay.

I have one that I made myself. After the baby is in bed I hit balls in it every night before dinner, it is a very important tool for me to relax after work and work on my swing, I simply love it and recommend it to all.

i have one,got it about 18 month ago its a full size one that i bought from my old club when they got new ones, the most expensive part was the new mat and platform, that cost £279 but well worth it,novelty wore off after a few months but have started using it again recently but to be honest it gets a bit boring just hitting into the net.

Had a 'portable' one (and mats) for a couple of years. Was quite useful but mis/abused by kids abd ended up with a couple of holes. Reasonable value (£70) for amount of use though.

Never really seen the point. Even though you can feel as tohugh you've nailed one without seeing the floght you can't be sure where it would have gone. They have their uses and if you have the room then I can see how they can help to a degree but I'd rather hit the range and see the ball fly for myself. Just a personal preference.

The more you use it and know your swing the more you get a good idea how the ball flew, fit in a range session now and then to correlate what you believe is going on and it turns into a very useful training aid.

tempted to get something along these lines, not bothered about seeing ball flight just repeating drills after a lesson. Off to the range later and every other day and @ £3 a pop + petrol it soon adds up.

I'm a bit tempted by this too, and constructing a putting green aswell. just moved into my first house last year with a garden (last pad was a flat) and these were the ideas I had before moving in. However I canny even get the grass cut these days so perhaps its not likely to happen for a while :-)
