Was thinking of buying one of the large nets for the back garden so i can hit a few balls and such, has anyone got one and are they usefull ?
I haven't yet. But... I'm in the process of building a putting green and I thought about a driving net, but baulked at the £320 price. Mate of mine is a pipefitter welder so he's going to put one together for me for £50 and a suitable net can be bought for £30...
I've had one in the garden for some time its great for keeping the pigeons out of the raised beds.![]()
LOL, has it come to that Patrick? I don't have to worry about raised beds, no plants in my garden (other than trees and bushes that I can't kill with my reaper-like gardening skills)...
Can't wait til the putting surface is ready, although the heave rain last week has set it back.
Show us the link please, might be the one i was looking at on ebay.Yep, got a good heavy full-sized range mat for about a tenner and a net you construct much like a tent, both from ebay, can put link up if you like, they're £40 new I got mine for £12 second hand. I've only had a chance to use it a few times, but it's a nice option to have tucked away in the shed if I'm too tired to drive to the range. If I do a bit of chipping down the garden I do so off the mat, handy enough. Of course it's better to see the ball flight but you still know if you've flushed one or hit one thin etc. I got it for getting warmed up before I go to the course but weather hasn't been kind this year and I wasn't going to get wet before going out and getting wet.
Any chance of a summer? Might see more usage then.
Never really seen the point. Even though you can feel as tohugh you've nailed one without seeing the floght you can't be sure where it would have gone. They have their uses and if you have the room then I can see how they can help to a degree but I'd rather hit the range and see the ball fly for myself. Just a personal preference.
I'd love to see some pictures of people's nets in their garden, I'm not sure my garden is big enough really.
