Off to the races at Ascot tomorrow and whilst I enjoy a trip to the races I do not really follow it enough to know form etc.

Anyone got any decent tips that may be worth a few quid?

I think the last time I betted at the races was when Spartan Missile won at Towcester. Even then I had an each way... But of course I hate betting money on anything. Even when I'm certain.

You should have told me. My course is 500 yards from the racecourse so you could have saved your money and had a round instead. We could have watched the racing in the clubhouse with a few beers and one of our members is a bookie so we could have had a few beers.

From the grandstand if you look to the right towards the side of the track from Swinley Bottom up until the final turn the course is literally the other side of the road. If you get a chance pop over and have a wander round (you'll need to get a token from the bar to get back out though)

This is a works do so all paid for otherwise would love to ditch and play golf. Still, beer on the company, a few bets, meal and a night in a hotel all paid for so not too bad a way to spend the day.
