Anyone got a golf related number plate?

Wow, personalized plates are expensive huh
Personalised number plates are great, because they are like a tax on the stupid!
If a personalized plate puts a smile on the owners face every time they walk out to the car, I figure it's money well spent.

My perspective is money is to pay for our needs, after that it's to buy things that make us happy. I don't pretend to understand what makes someone else happy, I have a hard enough time figuring out what makes me happy.

My mate's wife bought him one for his 50th birthday. It is X50 XXX (his initials). The initials are obvious, as is the 50 for his age at the time. What wasn't so obvious was the X5, and that was because it was going to go on his new BMW X5. Unfortunately, a visit to the showroom convinced him he couldn't stretch to the beemer, so he bought a Kia Sorrento instead. 😁

My own view on them is if I can look at it and tell immediately what it is supposed to reference, then it's good. If after following you for 5 miles I don't have the foggiest idea what it is about, it's rubbish.

Your mate has the initials XXX? Quite unusual.

Someone at my golf club has a BMW X5 M50, I'm sure the plate is X50 or M50 or some derivative and some letters after it. I assumed that reg cost a bomb.

Few hundred, tops.

PAR 7Y is £50 grand
Yup because it looks a bit like PARTY and someone thinks people will pay that.

Sorry, I'm not sure if that was meant to be a rebuttal to my comment or not. I realise you've highlighted it because it has "PAR" in it though :)

Not a rebuttal, just had a look online and that one stood out so I had to share!

I have two private plates so I must be a proper sucker 😂

Both my initials and day of birth and one is just a shortened version of my full name. The other is PAR, but not golf related, but because I am a Pars (Dunfermline) fan... Hadn't even though of it as golf related 😂

I have a personal plate as well, which is the initials of myself, wife and daughter and my birthday. Makes it so much easier to remember when someone asks my registration details.

Not sure I could have a plate relating to my football team.
