Reading a lot of gloom and doom threads recently,i thought id start a positive one.
Having recently changed clubs,it really has given my golf a new lease of life.
Even if i have a bad round i can walk off with a smile,my new course is a pleasure to play.
My handicap has come down, due to feeling positive, and lots of practice.
Great banter with my regular playing partners.
Also to break it up a bit,a few opens at local-ish clubs.
All in all a happy golfer.
Anyone one else feeling the love for this wonderfull game?

i am feeling the love to-day,having not touched a club for over a month and unlikely to for a few more due to my heart attack i have been feeling down in the dumps, got a phone call at 12-30 lunch time from the club captain saying he had heard i was unwell and hoped i made a quick recovery and wished me all the best,i don't know him personally and have not been a member long so felt good that the captain would take the time to ring me,is this typical of a private club with over 800+ members as opposed to a just want your money brigade.

yeah , im a long long way away from becoming cynical , i dont have children so maybe they would be the best thing ever in my life but as i dont at 45 , golf is an absolute and unrivalled pleasure for me , im completely smitten by it

Yes. 5 weeks with consecutive lessons, a single focus with plenty of quality practice and hit 5 under handicap yesterday in the sunshine :)

What club have you moved from and gone to pokerjoke?!
If I remember rightly you were around the Taunton area so just curious. If you aren't, ignore me :whoo:

My game is in a good place, the short game is coming back and the putts are starting to drop. Even I'm happy at the momentand glass is definitely close to full. Still looking to hit the RBZ just to answer my inquisitve nature and contemplating a new trolley (motocaddy) as I've a few buying itches needing scratching and apperently new shoes are off the agenda according to HID

Good to hear PJ. I've been busy with work and with the new bairn so not a lot of golf for me. Guess it makes me more appreciative of it when I do get to play. I think after three years any ounce of competitiveness has been beaten out of me. Actually in many ways pretty brutally!!! ;)

Yes Scazza, playing at Taunton and Pickeridge.
Used to play Vivary,so you can understand the
positive reaction

Well that explains it! I've got a few mates who play up there, also mates with Chris Wyatt who is in the process of turning pro and working in the shop!

Cracking course and I go up and play now and then as work has a corp membership there so get to play for a fiver on weekdays!
