He has the same 2 ball for years. Currently he plays with Titleist irons (cannot recall exact spec, they were the left handed only set designed for Mickleson) he has upgraded his wedges to new Vokeys recently, he will not use a hybrid as loves his 3 iron and has an old Cleveland Hi-Bore driver that he has never got on really well with. He had the original Cleveland Launcher that he used to love and if I cannot find anything else then I may opt for the new launcher as can afford the 2009 model. Good prices on Nike Str8 fit at the moment as well and may consider one of them as he would probably enjoy messing with the settings.

A mid mallet putter may suit. I am probably going to have to buy online though as it is frightening how little left handed kit you can find in store. Most of what he has had to be ordered in specially.

Whereabouts are you mate? I am in the NW and the golf coast of Southport is hard to beat, and reasonable at this time year. Recommendations would be Formby, Hillside and West Lancs.

If he likes a tipple, an engraved hip flask with a special bottle of whiskey or brandy or port?

Perhaps even a 40 year old bottle too?

I'm sure there's a company somewhere that does bottles from years of birth as a gift.

Might be more in your budget than an engraved Scotty!

Just a thought anyway.

I did think of a pair of John Daley trousers as an option.

At the moment I still like the new putter idea and having it engraved.
