Do any of you play by any quirky rules when playing friendly games?

When we first started playing the game we injected a few of our own rules... one of my favourites was the wildcard shot we later dubbed the 'Shot of Grace' - this entitled you to retake any tee shot without penalty BUT you could only use it once. If you'd played well enough to still be holding your shot of grace on the 18th you could hit 2 balls and choose the best one!

Now we've all joined a club we've had to kick all those rules into touch, I've got to say I've played a few comps recently where I would have loved a SOG on the back 9 though!

When we play bounce games we do if you get worse than a nett bogey u lose a club(everyone decides what club between themselves) and cant use it till you get a nett birdie(1 club back) and eagle(2 clubs back)

I wouldn't be very good at that, i'd end up with just my putter

We play to some really quirky rules here in Aylesbury.
All dreamed up by some blokes in Scotland, belonging to a club called the R&A - you won't get many quirkier rules than they've produced

so if you eagle the first do you get to nick a club from your partners?

Well you can have 2 bogeys and still have all your clubs, so acts as an extra 2 lives(sort of thing). Very unlikely to happen with the people i play with but you never no do you.

Ok but if you take a couple of clubs from a mate, that puts you over the limit re number of clubs you are carrying

Then you would have to do a Woosnam

we havnt got any quirky rules, but we have got a really stupid looking hat, whoever loses on the day he wears the hat 4 the next round.the hat also has loser written on it in big capitals, now most people know at the club wat the hat is for, very funny.

We sometimes play a reverse mulligan...

If someone hits a peach of a drive right down the middle, or putts from 60ft, or holes an eagle... you can claim a "reverse mulligan" and make them replay the shot. Each person only gets one of these to use on who they want through the course of the round.

What's really funny is when a good shot is played, followed by a reverse mulligan, only for the player to make another really good shot, only to be "reverse mulliganed" all over again!

Whenever I play with James (JustOneUK) we have a little "rule" that states I am only allowed to light up a cigarette when he hits a fairway.....

In the last 4 rounds I have played with him, I have lit up twice, and one of those was a provisional
