Any "Heavy Putter" users?

I was having a mooch around the shop today and stroked a few with a heavy putter.

Got to say, it felt incredibly stable (and even without my V-easy )

Just wondering if there are any users amongst us and any pros/cons with this type of weighted putter?

Have owned one but it never made it into the bag for any comps.

Pros - a good pendulum stroke helping with alignment.
Cons - you can't feel the golf ball much so pace is harder to judge.

- Heavies are great on short putts but not so good on long putts.

I think that's the basics

I tried a couple out in the shop, they were just too erm, heavy. I suppose with practice I could learn to judge distance better with it but prefer to pick up a putter and think, thats the one for me.
I did treat myself to a TigerShark Jumbo putter grip today, talk about nice feelings! haha.

I've tried them in the shop but to be honest really wouldn't fancy lugging one around in my bag for 18 holes. I understand the concept behind them but they are what they say and HEAVY

I was standing waiting to buy one abut 3 years ago and my mate asked why I would want to humph it round the course all day. I put it back.

Hi

I have started using mine again after a 3 day Odyssey affair. Mine is a C2 DF cut down from 35" to 33"

It does take a little getting used too, particularly distance control BUT it remains the best putter for me and has done for a while. Only cost me a tenner off e bay as well

Indeed I do Smiffy but we are getting into the season of the trolley ban and so carrying will inevitably become the only option at some point this winter. I definitely wouldn't want to lug one around with me
