EG £12How much is everyone paying for EG fees? Our club charged us £20
Fair enough.Question was how much is everyone paying EG? Whether I pay SG is irrelevant to my answer.
I also don’t pay Lothians golf anything either.
Fair enough.
Perhaps if the question was “How much is everyone who has to pay EG paying?”
Some Scots are so touchy. It was a rather facetious response on my part Ken, it was the implication we’re all in Englandshire.
I’ll get back in my box at some point today.

How much is the full fee? £450 in 5 years is quite a jump.Just got ours sent out. It's gone up again, by £100 - which is a 6.25% increase. So it'll be £1700 for me. And this is my last year on the under-40s rate so next year's increase for me personally will be massive. I'll be staying for this one but that one in a year's time might be the time to say enough is enough. For context, we joined in 2021 and it was £1255.
I actually don't know what this year's full membership cost is, I only have an email telling me my own subscription. Historically though it has been roughly £200-225 higher than the under 40s rate I was on. So I'd expect it to be £1925 odd. The increase to our rate has been between £65 and £105 every year since we joined. How much is the full fee? £450 in 5 years is quite a jump.
I just had a look through some old emails and found my renewal for 2019 which was £754 including EG and county fees. This year is was £948 so I guess in the grand scheme of things it's decent value.
I think the key thing is compared to others in the immediate area is it competitively priced for what you require?I actually don't know what this year's full membership cost is, I only have an email telling me my own subscription. I guess I'm just unlucky enough to live in an expensive golf area. Wife wants to move house for something bigger, and we would definitely have to do that if we have a second child - until now I've resisted moving too far north because I do love my club and didn't want to leave. But if I find myself on a £2000 membership, that'll make it much easier to say goodbye. I just checked my Uncle's club in Aylesbury and it's only £1284 full membership which is far more palatable.
I have no issue with it being short, I like a short course and enjoy playing it. And we can turn up on a Saturday and get on the course no trouble, usually. I don't know what price other nearby courses are, I haven't checked in a while. Most likely similar. You make good points - it's just if I am paying £2000 next year I'll wonder if it's worth it full stop, rather than worth moving. It's a lot of money.I think the key thing is compared to others in the immediate area is it competitively priced for what you require?
Also is the course decent compared to others.
I know previously you have said it’s short with a lot of par 3s would a longer course be preferred?
Also is it in decent condition normally and can you get a tee time that suits you normally.
A mate of mine moved clubs and found the new place although a better course was never in as a good condition and trying to get a tee time when he wanted was difficult

Aylesbury Vale he is at.Which club in Aylesbury is only £1200
The question is though what's the course like, is it in decent nick, does it get overly wet and boggy, can you easily get a tee time, would you be happy playing there regularly and would you be happy having to get new golfing friends. Ok that is more than one question but all would need to factor and cheap golf doesn't always equate to VFM or enjoymentAylesbury Vale he is at.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t imagine you use the clubhouse much with having a young family at home so for you the course and ease of getting a tee time are the most important factors.I have no issue with it being short, I like a short course and enjoy playing it.
