He has just had a swipe on Sky and knocked it out to 250 yards with old rubber lips Holmes giving him ten yards.

I have just read an article in Bunkered and it was for this very reason he has jacked in,he felt he couldn't compete with his average which I think was around 270 in 2011.

Looks like 90% of the forum would be giving him at least 30 yards then eh?

I read about his reasoning a while back and it's a shame. But when most are knocking 8 irons into a green and he's having to use a 4 or 5, it puts immense pressure on the long game. If it's working well then you can keep up, but if it's not on song you're struggling.

Read an article in another mag about him and realised that I know very little about him but maybe thats because I've only just got into golf properly. Seems a genuinely nice guy who finished at the right time. It wasn't making him happy so why carry on especially when the game was changing and technology was changing. I like him on the coverage, he talks sense and is honest.

He was actually a player I quite enjoyed watching and when he broke into the RC side I thought he'd really kick on and have a stellar career. He did ok for himself. I don't like him as a presenter, its the faces he pulls as he talks and the way he speaks but thats just a personal thing. Having read an article about him in one of the mags recently he does seem a decent guy who made the decision to quit at the right time for him rather than keep grinding on and enjoying it less and less

I don't like him as a presenter, its the faces he pulls as he talks and the way he speaks but thats just a personal thing.

He's Scottish Homer, that's the way they speak, it's known as an accent
