It was bound to happen. Its compulsory if you're going to knock about this site ;)

Has anyone any drills/experiences/thoughts they wish to share about the V Easy? Want to get the most out of it.

Sound.

I have a few...

I do 5 with and 5 without from 2,4,8,15,20 feet.

It works well as you grove a stroke, if you miss too many I stay at a distanc till I hole all 5 without then move up.

I usually choose a slightly uphill straight putt to work on things as it takes out all other variables.

Another is at home, I putt across my living room to a 5p coin 6 feet away and try and "click" every time as the ball hits the coin.

I do swings with the v easy in front of the TV for 5 mins, take a break then do more... does annoy the wife a lot thought, all this clicking and waving about as she watches her soaps.

Thanks chap, see in your sig that you've gotten quite a significant cut recently - what's your secret?! Or is this like "the secret of golf"?

My secret was playing well over the club champs and other blue tee comps where the CSS was 2 over the course par :D

The V-Easy is a big part of my improvement this year, along with getting some proper irons (not some aged cast SGI cheapies), custom fitted driver shaft and some serious lesson and practice time (series of 6 lessons and going to the club 4 times a week).

Anyway to bring this on topic I am picking up a V-easy from my club shop tomorrow so any hints will also be appreciated by me.

One problem people have when using the V-Easy is they putt with their elbows sticking out(gull winging).
When using the V-Easy you will learn to keep the elbows tucked into the body, that holds it firmly in place so it doesnt slip.

Start with the rubber hinge close or touching the bottom of the putter grip and if it's too tight, slide it down the shaft and inch or two.

Finally, dont be scared to let the putter swing like a pendulum, especially on the longer putts. You may have to swing it back further than normal as you don't have any "wristy flick" at the ball any more :D

Keep us informed how you get on :)

I have the rubber hinge nestling against the bottom of the grip?

Just one q? - how "big" a chip do you think would be practical. I haven't ventured more than 5-10 yards away from the edge of the practice green....

It's really tidied up my wedges, so clean and crisp, I've even started using a Lob Wedge.

It's not so much the length of shot, more the length of swing. I wouldn't recommend you let your hands get higher than waistheight. Somewhere between your thighs and waist and then just vary your club selection :)

Ahh that explains it, thought I'd bought the wrong size!

Amazed at the fact using this eases me into a straight back and forth putting stroke. Helps groove that feeling into my swing. Just practicing on the carpet but will get out on the green tomorrow if they've been cut. They were a bit long and bobbly today. Made putting very difficult as there was a bit of a grain, were also much slower than usual due to some recent fertilization combined with a little water and a lot of sunlight.
