Can you see anything wrong with playing a stableford qualifier but allocating prizes based on American Stableford?

American or Modified Stableford:

Net Albatross (double eagle) - 8 points
Net Eagle - 5 points
Net Birdie - 2 points
Net Par - 0 points
Net Bogey - -1 points
Net Double Bogey or worse - -3 points

That's just a modified Stableford, don't think it's peculiar to the Americas. The Tour uses a modified Stablefore so that they don't have players picking up on any holes, ie, need to finish.

It's not named 'American' because it is played there but because it was invented there as an alternative to the original form.

Does your software handle this adaption, Jim??

I have no problem following it myself but am just wondering what instructions you gave to 'the field' regarding the scoring.

They were each given a printed slip as follows:

American Stableford Normal Stableford
Net Albatross 8 points 5 points
Net Eagle 5 points 4 points
Net Birdie 2 points 3 points
Net Par 0 points 2 points
Net Bogey -1 point 1 point
Net Double Bogey or worse -3 points 0 points

If they can relate to the expected Normal Stableford score, they can find the appropriate American Stableford score. I was delighted - not to say astonished - that every scorecard was perfectly and accurately filled in, and that doesn't happen with a Normal Stableford.

I laid it all out nice and neat in a table, but when I posted it, it became all compressed, but you get the idea.
