Morning all! Sadly having to start this week off with a rant as I can only assume that the American Golf warehouse is being run by those who failed the McDonald’s exam and it’s so frustrating!

Placed an order on Thursday for a new hybrid (Adams Golf Idea a12 OS) and paid for delivery by 10:00am Friday as I thought I’d be able to have a thrash that afternoon then use it across the weekend. Anyway, 10:00am came and went and gave AG a call at 10:30am to get an update. Spoke to a particularly useless lady who didn’t have a clue what was going on but promised to ‘investigate’ and get back to be ASAP.

2:00pm arrive and I was starting to get the hump so called again and spoke to someone more helpful who rang the warehouse whilst I was on the phone. Turns out that whilst the order had been confirmed someone in the warehouse had forgotten to send it so it was still sat there waiting to go out…..brilliant!

So the guy I was speaking to was very apologetic and promised that it would go out for a Saturday delivery and they would refund the delivery charge. Not ideal as I wouldn’t have it for Saturday but at least they’re trying to help so what can you do. Get back from my round on Saturday (well in contention until the wheels fell spectacularly off across the last 5 holes) and there was the package sitting there. Pleased that I’ll get to use it on Sunday so open the package to see my new shiny toy!

Anyone care to guess what I found?!! They’d managed the Adams Idea hybrid part however it was an a7 OS and just to compound matters it’s used!!! Christ sake! Have been on the phone today and they are saying that they’ll have to check stock their end i.e. check that I’m not just trying it on and will let me know. Numpties the lot of them!

While it is frustrating, AG will sort it out and compensate you. Overall they are a decent company to do business with.
 
It's frustrating when things go wrong but - things go wrong.
No system is perfect as it relies on a Human Being at the business end....
I bought something online from AG a few weeks back and it came with no issues at all.
I guess you were unlucky, but as Craw says, they'll sort it.
 
Its bad enough delivery was late but the wrong goods too! double whammy! in this day of service being king we do seem to be hearing alot of bad stories recently such as tigers debacle with his fairway wood. Hopefully it will be rectified asap and compensated.
 
The joys of online shopping, they will sort it out the same as the did for tiger in the end.
It's also a gamble ordering something for next day delivery I have ordered plenty online myself but if I want it tomorrow then a trip to the nearest store is the safest option.

I have 3 AG's within 20 minutes of me and I would have gladly picked up rather than ordering online however none of them had it in stock so online was the only way forward.

To be honest I understand that mistakes happen and I'm sure it wasn't intentional however it's the attitude of the customer services I've dealt with so far. They haven't been especially sorry, it's just a bit of effort on their part that now they have to deal with something that requires more work!

Will see what they say once their 'investigation' is completed!
 
had the same problem with dunluce golf. they sent me the wrong loft in one of my hybrids. they bent over backwards to sort it out for me. great service.
 
A new level of stupidity/incompetence has been reached!

They are getting closer in that at least this time the club delivered is new and the right make/model however this time the loft is wrong.

I am getting quite a collection of incorrect clubs which despite American Golf's best efforts to come and collect I am keeping 'hostage' until they can get the right club to me....

Hope you get it sorted soon. I'd be pressing for a dozen premium balls for your inconvenience!
 
i find a good old rant on twitter always get big companies intrested and then they contact you. Even when you dont tweet them direct and just mention there name in your rant haha

It worked for BT and for kwik fit :)...

I have already done this although they're pretty slow to reply even though they tweet throughout the day!

As it turns out they just didn't have the club in stock, never did, however everything was marked up wrong which is why they kept sending out the wrong clubs!!

The stupid thing is they won't issue a refund until they have both clubs back (which I guess is fine) however they insist on using a courier to collect and they will be at mine between 9:00am-5:00pm but cannot give a more accurate time. I cannot stay in all day just waiting for them and have already missed one attempted collection yesterday as I had nipped out to the bank.

I suggested that they organise a courier who can actually specify a time or even a 2 hour slot however they've said that's too expensive. I did point out how expensive this could get for them if their original courier keeps missing me however they don't seem too bothered about that either! I even offered to drop them off at a local AG store given I use the driving range there however, again, this doesn't work with them!

Have written a letter and will send recorded delivery, have asked for some sort of compensation given that I have wasted a day and a half just trying to get this club so will see what happens....not holding my breath.
