Amazon Prime or Netflix?

I can't compare, but we registered with Netflix on the 1 month free trail last month and I was surprised with the choice and variety. The films are not the latest and at a guess I would say they are about 12 - 18 months old before Netflix gets them, but even with that I will be keeping the membership open. It does have a good selection of kids films, why not use the free trail to have a look.

I have both running at the moment. Netflix was free for 6 months with Virgin and my wife was a subscriber to Amazon Prime already so has the TV service free for the rest of the year.

On the whole I think that there is a slightly better selection on Amazon Prime than on Netflix but Netflix does get the odd latest release ahead of everyone else. If you are in to swapping regions etc and know how to make it think you are in the US then go Netflix as the choice on US Netflix is amazing.

Probably best to sign up for both for a free month, put together a watch list on each and see which has more on it.

The only other thing to bear in mind is where you plan to watch it. Netflix streams to pretty much everything. Due to various issues, however, Amazon Prime will not stream to Nexus 7 tablets and maybe a few others (due to them being in competition with the Kindle Fire) and it will not stream to a Roku box as Sky own a large share in the company and are blocking the app due to it competing with their Now TV. Both work fine on Xbox, Wii and smart TVs.

I'm running both too as I have an Amazon Prime and the misses has Netflix. I can make my laptop think I am in America so get he best of both ours and the US versions as they have different things available. Amazon has the latest TV shows, more up to date than NEtflix normally, so I would imagine it would be the same with kids programs. Like has already been said, make the most of the free trials and take a look, nothing to loose then.

I have both, netflix seems to be the winner for my kids. Lad likes all the top gear and mythbusters, youngest daughter likes all sorts of odd stuff....
