This months GM Mag with Jeremy Ellwoods lesson from Alvaro Quiros was very interesting.

Particularly liked Quiros' view on his grip. I've been twiddling with mine for months adopting the 'normal' way with mixed results. After reading Alvaros's tips to Jeremy about the wear on his glove and the fact that he (Alvaro) will never see this wear on his (Alvaro) glove I gave it a go.

I might have picked it up innacuratly as its not detailed but I now grip more in the fingers of the left hand as opposed to the top half being more in the fleshy palm part.

Well it fels so much better, so much more in control and the sweetest strikes with all clubs in a few months albeit winter.

Always worth checking the basics and good golf starts with a good grip imo

Cheers GM Jed and Alvaro:thup:

Sounds as though you have it spot on. Any sign of wear on the glove near the pad shows a bad grip. Grip across the fingers with the but end below the palm pad. Releases the wrists for a better strike in the impact area.

just the opposite for me Davem, its about holding the lag and 'set' position as long as I can to get the ideal 'release' of the wrists, this stronger grip is giving me very sweet connections on every club. #rollonspring
