Afternoon all,

Ill start this with a rough idea of what tune mother nature had us dancing to today....High winds, sleet falling with rain and just rotten dark grey sky for as far as the eye could see.....Which didn't let up for one minute.

Yes i was one of the nut balls that ventured out......
Turned with 20 points and just couldnt bare anymore on 15 as my hands just gave up.....31 points standing on the 15th tee and i might as well have been swinging the club 1 handed for all the good it done.....I scratched the last 4 holes but put up a brave fight....I just couldn't feel the club with my fingers from the lack of blood that my body had borrowed from them to protect the important bits.... :)

I have to say that wet.....no....scratch that........Sopping fairways,Rough that would have ate your shoes given the chance, freezing wind and rain. Hands that were red raw from the cold , slippy grips , 2 pairs of rain gloves specially made by FootJoy for said purposes......
But they neglect to tell you on the packet that your hands must not be numb or wet in the vain attempt in trying to put them on.....Oh and if you do manage to get them on "Do not remove them for no one....:)......

And you all know the nice tingly feeling you get when you just manage to catch the ball a bit on the thin side in normal conditions....
I hope someone on here can relate to that same feeling when the hands are numb and wet ......Its an altogether strange meeting of nerves and steel... :)

As i sit here now thawing in front of an open fire, the i10's just starting to show signs of colour again i think that given the next few weeks of weather were probably looking at it may be the best decision iv made to book a block of 4 one hour lessons for the next few months and come out all guns blazing for the new season ahead.

Here's hoping.

Don't you just love Winter rules......
I have to say though that i hit some majestic shots which i was in awe of but anyone that won their Turkey voucher this morning really earned there meal for the Christmas table.

Fortunately I can't stand turkey :)

....lovely and warm in my house today watching Rory, Westwood and Tiger [hopefully]. Think I'll have another cuppa....... ;)

James.......How are you my friend?

Im boycotting Sky at the moment for the price that they are charging..... :<
I havent seen much golf the past 2 months or so.

I have empathy,

I was one of twenty that turned out for our slap today.

Same weather conditions as you apart from a 10 minute window of blazing sun and clear blue sky.

I made the mistake of taking my Macwets off, as well as my waterproof jacket.

When the sleet came back with a vengeance it took me three holes to get my kit back on, I was wet through by the time I managed.

I blobbed those three holes and nearly won the red hat because of it.

Finished 18 with 31 points and pneumonia.

On the plus side, my new Galvin Green sou'wester is the mutts nuts at stopping icy sleet from dropping down my neck.

Cheers

Steve...

never played in those conditions yet, was a bit nippy here but the back 9 was in great weather for the time of year. Shame I played pants (yet again)

Conditions like today what you need to do is

Turn back and walk towards the clubhouse.
Get in, hot shower and change.
Nice hot bowl of soup.
Settle down with a few pints and watch either the golf or footie.
JOB DONE!
