I was playing today in a charity event with my dad, brother and my dad's friends. After a good start with par on the first the wheels didn't take long to fall off resulting in 12 points on the first nine holes. This was bolstered by a birdie 2 on a long par 3 (my first birdie 2). Going into the back nine I was determined not to let this get to me. I gave up worrying about scoring and tried instead to get my ball stricking back to what it was last week. Things went ok but having a bit of trouble as I pulled a muscle in my right leg last week and this was starting to really get to me. Had real trouble loading any weight onto my right leg and any ability I had on the tee left me. Anyway despite this I pulled 20 points out of nowhere on the back nine and managed to win a small prize of 3 srixon balls and return with a 32 and hopefully another buffer. Don't quiet know how I managed it but it felt good. Also had a few nice up and downs during this.

nice one, I reckon you probably just relaxed more on the back 9 as you weren;t chasing a score. I find this happens to me once the damage is done in comps. Why I can;t start the same eludes me, one day I tell thee, one day :D

Was gonna hit the course today but absolute monsoon like downpours put me off lol

We had thunder and a bit of lightning on the back nine when as far as you can get from the clubhouse. Maybe the fact I was walking around with 15 lightning rods focused me. By rights we should have suspended the round but it never stayed around long enough to bother be a real danger.

And you still took the prize........................ ;)

I've had similar where I've used the majority of my handicap in the first nine, played with a sense of freedom on the back nine thinking the 0.1 is a given and comeback in a few over to scrape the buffer. Very silly game we play

Get in there Bob, keep at her, there is a decent golfer in there.
Speaking of strange rounds, managed to get to the 9 hole hat comp last night, -1 after 4, bogeyed the 5th and lost ball on the 6th, pars and a bogey the rest of the way for 19 points, never felt so short changed in my life! haha 19 points and probably not a bean for it either.

Thanks Brendy. Maybe I need to take out whiskey instead of water on the course. That might help.

Was waiting to see if someone picked up on the 15th lightning rod being the brolley. Well done Andy, you win err this smiley.

Chris you win this one
