I played 18 holes for the first time today since the new hip was done 5 weeks ago.

It was white frost everywhere at tee off time and I played a friendly 4BBB matchplay. Lost the game 3 and 1 and to be fair I feel as though I've been given a good kicking by Joey Barton at the moment.

The good side though, apart from getting round, was a 6" birdie putt for a very near, hole in one on the 5th, also, the longest drive up the last and enough good shots to be optimistic for the spring time. I also had to give shots to all the other guys and they refused to acknowledge my disability with a couple of shots on my handicap !

I think thats its time to move on and stop posting about the operation, I am sure that you are all bored to death with reading about it anyway! So, the future and single figures await!

Great news Chris!

I have been following your posts with interest, as my brother had his hip replaced just before Christmas, so not boring at all.In fact, I have been encouraging him with updates of your progress!

Sounds great Chris and I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we haven't been at all bored hearing about your op and recovery/return to the course rather than reading in admiration at your stoicism (love that word).

It sounds like you're more than ready to move on though and that's a huge part of the healing as people forget about the mental scars of injury which can run deep and hold people back.

Not you though - onwards and upwards

Impressive stuff Chris,i've played a couple of comps at my place with a guy who had his hip done almost 4 months ago,and he's still struggling.
Keep it up,and all the best for the future mate.

Chris

Its been good to read how you've come through the anguish and boredom of an inposed break, taken your first faltering swings back, wary of pain and damage, progressed to a few holes and now fully back with 18 under your belt. I still think you need to take it slowly in case too much too soon causes any problems especially with a new season on the horizon but its great to see you back
