A little pc assistance please.

I keep having this flashed up on my screen. Any ideas as to how I can find the location and deal with it please.

Error code 0xc00000fd at location 0x778ef07e.

The wording may not be exact by the codes are.

I've tried the search function and I'm coming up blank.

I found this for you if it helps I use a program call regscub XP hope this helps.

0xc00000fd Error Codes are caused in one way or another by misconfigured system files in your windows registry.

So, If you got 0xc00000fd Error then We strongly recommend that you run a free registry scan.

I've run ccleaner on it, and nowt. It's still happening. Flipping things!

Re-program it with a very large axe - normally works.

Run System Restore to a time before it was happening.

How often does it pop up and what are you doing when it does?

Its linked to crappy entries in the registry, so either do a system restore as suggested previously, or it could also me a sign of malware, so download Malwarebytes from here http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Update it and scan.

Another decent registry de crapiffier is Glary Utilities found here http://www.glaryutilities.com/

Are you running Vista by any chance?

My laptop went loopy after the most recent updates and I started in safe mode and used system restore.

There's defo something weird in the most recent updates.

I've quit using any system "cleaning" software. Iobit, ccleaner etc. are all very good, but I do worry about ticking the registry box, especially on ccleaner.

Have you tried system restore?

This is the actual message I get. It mostly appears when on IE, but not exclusively. IE is constantly playing me up and this message just keeps appearing.

I'm a bit worried about downloading yet more software from the web. But if all else fails I'll give the malware checkers a go. First is the system restore now.

Are you going with IE9?

I system restored t'other day and then only installed certain packages. Works(ed) for me.

My laptop wouldn't even start...most odd.

Since the error is happening in GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe, the first thing I'd try is uninstall Google Toolbar. You can always install it again later if you really want it.
