it wouldn't be Arnold palmer. he may be my dads hero and Ive watched his instructional VHS many times but theres a load i wouldn't listen to him about. one thing is that he has the ball in the same position for every club.
Probably Robert McArthur of the 1880s, a good teacher of the short game I would think.
