I've finally enjoyed a weekend of productive golf, first one in a long time.

I hit a decent score but more importantly I was able to hit the driver fairly long and straightish. To give you an idea I ALWAYS hit the driver low and left and I would say that yesterday I connected with 9/10 drives I hit which I'm thrilled about.

All with a few minor tweaks, and with the help of a tree on one occasion. I set the ball higher (silver castle) just off centre towards the toe of the driver, made a conscious effort for straighten my back and took a slow backswing.

Suffice to say I'm a happy bunny and looking forward to repeating this step forward

Me too! Usually hit low or when it does go high it goes right! This weekend was long and straight. I've never hit some many good drives in one round!

I played well despite losing 5&4 in a club match (and my unbeaten record) and didn't disgrace myself too much in the greensomes with Hawkeye yesterday (apart from one approach that went OB). I even managed to be the only ball in play on a few occasions to save the day off the tee and he didn't have too many difficult putts left to negotiate. I think he was happy(ish) with his albatross of a partner
