I hear we're going to have some 9 hole comps at my place that count for your h/cap... how's that supposed to work? Isn't it a lot easier to put in a score for 9 holes rather than 18? how many people totally crumble when they've shot a good front 9... at this rate their h/cap could be 5 shots lower

or am I missing something?

I don't think its right, it should be a Handicap for that particular 9 hole course only. Either way they would be found out if there HCP was wrong when playing an 18 holer.

I think they are bringing them in at my place, primarily for those guys that struggle to fit 18 hole rounds in. My understanding is that 18 points are awarded for the unplayed 9 so it is still based on 18 holes overall.

My last 4 visits around our FRONT 9 were.... level, level, level and 1 under

My last 4 visits in a comp for the BACK 9 were.... 6 over, 9 over, 8 over, 12 over :p

I'd take 18pts for the back!!!! :D:D (but would also be close to scratch h/cap) ;) LOL

I'm up and down really, there are times where I find the front 9 easy and other times where the back 9 is significantly better. There is no pattern, I can't predict it. The only certainties are 18 holes played well are unattainable and if teeing off in the first group of our roll up, with an audience, then a double at the first is just one of those things. :)
