5 Iron

I was using my 5 iron around the greens on Saturday off the back foot, the results were miles better than with a wedge. I have watched loads of video tips on YouTube etc. and nothing seems to work. I may adopt this style going forward.

5i off the back foot will have about the same loft as a putter off the front foot...

But whatever works for you is the best option

Hmm, yeah. I thought it was a bit low loft. I often chip on with an 8 iron as it has a nice loft for chip and runs. Never tried the 5 iron!

I've played many a chip with a 5 iron, though never from back of the stance more middle.

With short game use whatever is best for you.
