Help,

I was wondering whether anybody knew of a good place to repair golf clubs? I was playing in a competition at Shifnal Golf club on Wednesday, when on the 14th I drove it into the trees… I decided the only option was to give it some welly, however rather like Mr Woods did at the Masters, (or I'd like to think it was woods esque) my club on the follow through clobbered the tree and bent 45 degrees half way up the shaft!

And then in a bit of anger I finished the job…

The club was a 4-iron, Wilson Staff Pi-7, with a True Temper S300 shaft.

How much would it cost, and how quickly do you reckon I could get it done?

Thanks

Speak to your local pro, reshafts arnt a hard job, in fact getting the shaft in (which is fairly common by the way) would take the most mount of time, maybe a day or two if it isnt in stock.

i remember when i first got my clubs a couple of years back that i bent my 8 iron round a tree.

true temper had stopped making the shaft and replaced it with something else... finally got one and a well known pro replaced it only for the head to come flying off on the next game!!! went back, he said sorry and i now have an odd shafted club in my bag. really annoying.

I snapped the head off my old Hippo 5 iron at the range a few years back, I never did get it mended as the set probably was probably worth less than a new shaft.

You need to find someone who can take it to the Pro at Meole Brace or up to the range at Monkmoor. :)

wrapped my PW round a tree early last year. True Temper. bless them, had bought out Precision Rifle and trashed all the jigs and blanks of everything except Project X.
Found a club maker who had some Rifle blanks (not the one I needed) and 'tuned' the nearest to the 9-iron.

PM me if you want me to put you on touch with a good friend of mine. He is a club builder/golf club seller for a living. He's local too. Telford.
If your interested PM me.

Kind offer LtP. I'll take it with me over the weekend and put the poor lad out of his misery....when he's texted....

Seriously guys? Are you missing something?
In my view 1 broken club = 'Sorry my dear wife, it means I have to buy a whole set of brand new shineys 'cos they they don't make this type anymore...cough...honest'
