Police were called by the Ambulance service. Official reports aren’t saying who called the Ambulance service.

The question to be investigated, amongst many, is whether each person in the chain of moving these poor people were aware of what they were moving. Yes, the driver just hooked up the trailer but did he know the cargo? When the trailer was sealed why did he open it where he did? Boy is that drivers life going to be forensically searched.
If anyone is knowingly part of this chain then they deserve everything that they get, no matter how high or low they are in the ranks.

“We were called to Waterglade Industrial Park in Eastern Avenue shortly before 1.40am on Wednesday 23 October by our colleagues in the East of England Ambulance Service to reports that 39 people had been found dead in the trailer of a lorry.â€

Seems strange that you open up a container and find 39 bodies yet only call an ambulance, given that when you call 999 you are asked, which service please, surely you'd say police as well at the same time.

I read a BBC report yesterday that said the person who rang the ambulance service hadn’t yet been named so not sure it was definitely him? Even if it was what frame of mind would you be in after opening a container full of dead bodies?

Agreed, very distressing and possibly a bit foggy and guess it's easy to sit in judgement after the fact but logically the police would be the first call.

Sadly, if they are, another crew will drop into the gap and it will carry on. We need to somehow get the message across that this is not the land of milk and honey and that they will be coming across to an uncomfortable life. No, I don’t know how we can do that.

I think the word needs to go out that this country is full up and that when they come here they will be sent back, period.
And then doing it.
By being allowed to stay ,others, who are contemplating coming, are encouraged to do so.
And so, this trafficking will continue.

You can call me all the names you like. From what you say I take it that you would let all the refugees in the world (,who wish to, )come here.
How do you propose that we can properly manage the country with that going on.? Whilst you are comfortable and basking in your do gooding, the elderly and sick are making do ( or rather, not making do) on the ever dwindling available resources.
One example: when I was a child if my parents wanted to see the Dr they just went that evening to the surgery. No appointment, they were seen.
Now it's a four week wait. One thing has caused that over any other- Over population.
Sometimes hard decisions have to be made. You clearly are incapable of that.
