3 wood vs 1 hybrid

they are rare for a reason....extremely difficult to hit from the deck - think in terms of hitting a 9.5 degree driver off the deck

a simple case of try it before you commit

there aren't a whole load of 2 hybrids around for the same reason - although stronger players can use them to their advantage (+handicaps)

i had the ping g10 in 15 degrees and to be fair it was decent off the tee but went no further than my 19 degree hybrid off the deck.flight was low but it was not that hard to hit,i think if you have a quick swing speed you could get away with it,with my ss at 95ish with a driver my ss was not enough.

I have a K15 No3 which is 17 degree's and is very hard to hit off the fairway. Its OK on long par 3's off a small red 3/4 castle but not worth carrying just for those so its going.

I has a G5i 22 degree which I wish I hadn't got rid of as I struck that really well off the deck.

Saving for a 19 degree RBZ which everyone who I know has one says they hit it further than any of their previous 3 woods!

I carry a 16 degree with s steal shaft as a 2 iron alternative and i really like it. But they arent easier to hit than a 3 wood. I wouldnt replace a 3 wood with a 1 hybrid personally. Its more 4/5 wood alternative.
