2nd hand sureshot 8000 gps is it worth it? Any catches?

Hi everyone.

I am thinking of buying a 2nd hand gps.

Might there be any issues in transferring ownership or any remaining updates etc to me?

I've not owned a golf gps before and thought rather than shell out big for a new one that I don't use I would buy a second hand one first.
