A famine and feast day. Played some great golf, and some total rubbish, not helped by a windy links day - a 3 wood going 160yds, normally 230yds for me.

The highlight being only 23 putts, and 2 very good birdies.
 
Normally I'd say it depends how many greens you hit, but 23 is great even if you missed them all! Is that normal for you?

I had 3 birdies and 28 putts today, and lost 1 down in the club BB matchplay.
Too much other rubbish. :(

To be honest my GIR has never been great but my short game has compensated. My putting average is 29 and my FIR isn't bad either, its the bit in the middle that drives me nuts. Creeped up to 6 too, which is disappointing.

Best I've had is 24.

No wonder you lot are cruising around your handicaps.

If I get 29, it's like all my birthdays at once.

I suspect (in reality), the quality of your short games is what sets up these great stats.
