I love playing in opens and have a lot planned this year. So far i have these planned

Donnington Grove
East Devon
Royal North Devon
Saunton x2
Frilford Heath
St Georges Hill
Camberley Heath
Mill Ride
The Players
Blackmoor
Notts (Hollinwell)

anyone else entering any? (team events dont count ;))

I normally play serveral singles events every year (pretty much given up pairs though & matchplays due to some of the ridiculous scoring you see in those). On my roster for the year:

Fleetwood GC
Green Haworth GC

I'm putting my entry in this evening. Merv has put his name down with John so I'll pair up with those two.

If you knock any balls past us I'll have to write knob on your ball in green sharpie, that is the new forum tradition! :rofl:

Pity about St Enodoc, it's the best open of the year.
 
Sam, have you played donnington grove before? lemme know if you fancy a warm up knock there. (ps, if you have played before, its my understanding you will now be disappointing. We are getting tons of new members from people leaving there, heard the green keeps budget has been halved, they changed the layout etc, focusing on weddings etc i hear) I personally cant see it being as bad as i have heard, but it has struggled with the winter this year which is unheard of for there!

Anyhoo, let me know if you fancy it!

Yeah i've played there quite a bit, last played on 2nd January was i reasonable condition considering the rain etc. Just such a big walk,it kills you after 18 holes!! cheers for the offer though, i'd rather come play N&C one evening with you!

LOL cool. Like i said, Only going off what i have heard, not played it for about a year. I know what you mean about the walk!! Thats what puts me off! I google earthed it once and iirc, it adds 1.5 miles to the round!!

You are more than welcome to come on over for a knock! Will also keep you posted if we have an open etc! Lets wait until the clocks go and a cheeky early knock off work is calling!

Yeah thats cool, i can get to you in about 35mins. You used to have an open but it was only 18 holes and i dont like taking full days off work for 18 holes.

Every year i have played i have started on the east (not through choice). we considered playing the west first this year, but then decided that the East would be too much of a killer to play in the afternoon.
 
Me Bluewolf & Karl102 have just booked on for Clitheroe on Sunday 29th March.
Plenty of times still available if anyone fancies it.
