1sr medal

Don't worry Grey we've all been there, on the first tee explain to your PPs that it's your first time and ask them to keep you right  , let us know how you get on :fore:

What Willie sez.

And don't forget, we don't it for a living. It isn't important. Have a great time, good luck.

My first ever competition after getting my handicap of 17 was a medal...

My score was 103 including a number of rules errors adding strokes and a 5 putt.

I won the next two stablefords, partly based on what I learnt that day!

Its a round of golf, no different or less/more important than the others. No one other than you cares what you score. Worrying never helps any situation. See it as a round of golf as that is what it is. You may die in a few days - its possible so enjoy it

Looking on the bright side.......

Only jesting as this is very good advice and something I should heed myself

Enjoy. It's natural to feel nervous over the first shot, so relax, trust your swing and don't try and cream it. If you have any queries regarding rules and how to proceed, ask before you touch the ball or do anything if you aren't sure what to do. Try and keep it where the mowers go, and if not don't try the hero shot. Sometimes bogey is your friend. Have fun and let us know how you get on

I'd say DO try and cream it. Be positive.
Whatever you do, don't try to steer it
