Just been on the website for my club and they're advertising 14 months membership for the price of 12 if you join in Feb.

In reality, it's more likely going to be 13 months and 1 week for the price of 12 for me, by the time I can play next, but still not a bad deal, and it means I can my membership earlier which means (more likely) more "regular" rounds until the weather picks up and I can get my handicap sorted.

The fact that it's less than £400 is even better!

Do the extra 2 months fall in winter or summer and how will this affect the clubs revenue next year if their fees are coming in 2 months later than normal.

The membership year runs april to april so if I join now, I pay the 12 month price, but can play unlimited through feb and march...It's not a massively great incentive, but it means I can get my initial handicap quicker and saves me £21 every time I go down there (which, between now and april 1st will be 4 or 5 times, saving me over £100)

The course I'm thinking of joining is only £295 for the year as I'm under 30 (and will be for a few years yet). Only works out a out £6 per week.

Makes you sick doesn't it. :)

our place is £795 for 12 months or £695 till the end of september if you join in feb

oh and to take the mick, the've just introduced £595 for 25-30 year olds.... i've just turned 31 :(

I thought it was illegal to descriminate on someones age. If you went to buy a car and someone younger got it for £2k less you would tell them to ram it. Why do you accept this tax on maturity.

I know we have had this discussion before but the discounts at my club are aimed at the wrong age group. We have plenty of junior and senior members, the missing age group is those aged 30-40.

I would have thought those in their 30's deserve more incentive as they have partners in their 30's therfor more under the thumb (women tend to nag more with age). Kids are older therfor costing them more

theres no justice for use older folk :)

The season ticket for the council has an offer of Jan to April 2012 for the same price for new members, not bad when you think its for 5 courses 365 days a year.
