100 Swings A Day

I'm not so sure about his claim that it takes only ten minutes, though. Think about it. Ten minutes means ten swings a minute, giving you six seconds for each swing, without taking a break whatsoever. No time for a decent setup, aiming or stopping to analyse what you have just done. That's exactly like getting a big basket of balls on the range and just bashing that away without going through your pre-shot routine etc. which is exactly what every pro tells you not to do, because it just grooves your mistakes instead of develop a better swing.

Yes, and I don't think he denies that. But his point is that not everyone (almost no-one) can get to the range to hit 100 balls everyday, whereas swinging a club in the back garden (or warehouse, or...) is much more easily achievable for many people.

Not arguing what you're saying and agree time, family etc is always going to put a premium on practice time and the ability to do any at all. My point is how viable hitting in a net is, especially without any form of monitor and how does the OP or anyone using a net know what they are doing is right or working?

Not a criticism as such more a personal point of view on the viability of using a net. I'd rather try and find the time for one range session even for 30-40 balls and just hit those and see what was happening

Apparently Christina Kim's dad made her swing a club for an hour or two a day for months before she was allowed anywhere near a golf ball. I also understand that Gary Player also did something similar as a lad and couldn't always get on a course. Both turned out to be pretty good pro golfers, so maybe trying to hit a golf ball before you can make a decent swing is a mistake that can ingrain bad habits. My worry is that you don't get any feedback on how well you are doing! By the way, I always start my practice sessions with a few practice swings, and I also take at least one before every shot out on the course. Before I get criticised, my PSR is not that slow, just a look down the line from behind, one practice swing and go. :)

The Explanar I bought in the winter is ready to come out of hibernation this weekend for this very reason - daily practice swinging on the right plane.

That's the job a explanar this be a great system to use on that. But having a average golfer swinging 100 times in a garden. Would end up pickin up all sorts of bad habits.

In the other hand if you have a scratch golfer with a family and time issues then 100 swings for him in the garden is a great idea.

but with a explanar you can even have a 20 handicapper swinging away on the correct path with no worries of picking up more swing problems
