Done! Took me 4 months rather than the 6 weeks suggested in the "challenge" but quality ones without rest.

Thinking 100 burpees might be the next challenge :mmm:

Well done. I've done it before (several years ago). Have you noticed any benefit to your golf?

Hmmm - pluses and minuses I think. Have gained some power I'd say but my game has been amiss for a couple of months in the main. This week I have worked on relaxing my arms more at address as the strength in my triceps was such that my arms were quite locked and rigid. Doing a bit of a waggle and having them straight but not locked has helped a lot.

To be fair Amanda, I think even I could manage 100 press ups in 4 months!

That's only about one a day!

Glad its not just me, I laugh in the face of 1 push up a day............just did 2 inbetween this sentence...
kiss my face!

Ha ha ha - very funny

The 100 burpees challenge is to do 1 on day 1, 2 on day 2 and so on until 100 on, you guessed it, the 100th day. The "rules" are to do the quota but not necessarily in one go (unlike the press ups!). If you miss a day then you have to do all the previous dayS to make up for it. So miss day 10 and on day 11 you have to do 1+2+3+4 etc etc...that would motivate me to not miss a day!

What's the 100 press up challenge? Sounds like something to try.

I was doing BMF (British Military Fitness) up until injuring my ankle around this time last year. Now I'm doing nothing on core or upper body and have definitely lost some distance for golf shots.

I tried it a couple of years ago from a decent foundation of 30+ full push ups. Following the plan to the letter though I got a sore shoulder so stopped at 75 maximal test. This time I took my time and repeated each week at least once and week 6 a good few times.

I go all out Bronson, by squatting a couple of Iraqi's 500 times before breakfast.*

*sometimes my routine swaps... usually to a cup of tea and a couple of smokes...

How didn't I notice this at the time?

I'm getting myself a Mini fitness regime together and I'm gonna work this into my week. Monday Wednesday and Friday will be basic core exercises. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday will be push-up days. If I'm playing on Saturday then I'll move the push ups to Sunday.

Amanda, have you kept the press ups going or was this a one off challenge?

Welcome Mr DOMS. Too much with no rest periods.

Good luck! I keep them going and can rattle off 50 ok and if I break them into sets of 25 then 100 is ok. I find them the best exercise for me to commit to upper body strength as weights just bore me. Presently doing little circuits of 10 x abs, squats, press ups repeated for 10-15 minutes - killer!!
