• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

£170 on shoes to blow! But what?

Personally wouldn't splash that sort of cash on shoes but as you have a Credit Note then Ecco's seem to be the flavour of the Month.

Footjoy 'Myjoys' are good fun to design.

yes but not much good if you want dry feet.

I won a set of myjoys, and the first time i wore them in light drizzle they let water in and only two weeks old.

So Ecco all the way for me too and for £170 you will get top of the range Yak with Goretex.

I was going to get the Bioms but when I tried them on the hurt my feet! I have a high instep and the re-informed arch on the shoe make them unwearable for me. I was gutted as the leather is superb. Just waiting for my size in the street shoes to come into stock.

With that sort of £££ you could get two pairs, one spiked and one spikeless if you are not averse to them.

Just want the one pair? I have a pair of Nike Dunk golf trainers - they're not to everyone's taste, but they're £50 and feel like you're wearing trainers - super comfy. Still leaves you £120 for another pair!

Get the Eccos that look like brogues! Theyre a hybrid shoe, but absolutely class looking. Alos the Yak with Gore Tex!

i've always work Nike trainers, running shoes and football boots so bought last years Lunar's and they feel really nice to wear. the new ones look nice, but just a bit out of my price range

I've had various pairs of Footjoys over the last 13 years, its the only brand I'd ever bought until recently when I bought a pair of Ecco Bioms.
All I'll say is try them out, you won't be dissapointed. As others have said the leather is absolute quality as is the rest of the shoe.

Personally I would buy 2 pairs of Footjoy Contours - one in white & one black.

I tried these last year and really could not believe I was wearing a golf shoe - felt more like a slipper!. I am at the point nearly a year down the line where I just dont think about them - they are on and so comfy that I just play.

Now I have feet that dont fit in addidas shoes as they are too skinny so my feet must be a wider version than some but I have found what works and am sticking with it.
