I bought a 3 iron the other week and love it. Stopped using my hybrid off the deck for par 5s now, and use my 3 iron, just hit better from anything less than perfect lies.
Didn't the R15 > M1 produce only an extra 5 yards on average? Not sure it's worth it personally, just swing faster off a bigger backswing. No better feeling than mullering a ball a long way. (ok, there is...watching the guy who hit it miles, duff the chip for his next shot...which I do :) )
It was hilarious, about time we got to see them play in conditions most of us have been the past few months. My winter scores don't look too bad now :)
Beemer is my favourite also, I like the Aussie on course guy too, just a bit more relaxed, kind of fallen just out the pub approach. US commentary is painful full stop, Faldo adds just a modicum of legitimacy about it, I don't mind him personally, I guess it would be a hard gig being a US...
At the range last night, I tried some of the drills, that feel of momentary pause and dropping the hands really helps. But until you really commit to try and take the club across the ball to the right, I was still not getting it as well as I'd like, but it's certainly getting there now.

Thanks for that wonderful contribution. I didn't conjure it up. There is a swing plane, you can be above it (positive) or below it (negative), simple really.
I'm not sure what steep is :) But for me, +ve is where the down swing essentially comes over the top of the backswing plane, causing the out-in/slice that 90% of us have. The goal is to be 0% on plane, but apparently most pros have a -ve downswing, so a -ve downswing is where you come under the...
I've been seeing a lot of improvement in my irons and driving thanks to reducing the big positive down swing plane (20%) to single figures (5%). When I see pro's at the top of the back swing, you see the club fall down vertically which really allows them to come in to out.
I just can't seem to...
Specifically how though?
In the same respect I can watch Sky 4 all day long and expect to be a better player? They are good at their "own" game, you trying what they do could make things worse if you just applied a bit here and there from different folks?
Stableford is a rubbish format IMHO. Having a competition where you can score 22 on a hole and still come out a winner is a floored approach. Handicapping should be sufficient.
I'm a high h/c by the way :)
