Drivers - How forgiving is forgiving?

I've ordered the same model of head in the XF format with a stiff shaft. I'll take a trip to the driving range to see if there is a difference. I'll swap heads if it seems right then take both drivers onto the course for a game or two.

Drivers - How forgiving is forgiving?

That's a great observation. Many thanks. It helps me put things in context.

Drivers - How forgiving is forgiving?

I am primarily trying to determine if a forgiving head will help me with directional control given my typical driving performance. The shaft issue is, largely, secondary unless I can be convinced that a sdtiff shaft will noticeably assist with directional control. I am not unhappy with my...

    Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society

Based upon discussions with a friend who play in our regular group and recent joined. Bruntsfield has a waiting list 18months - 2 years. To become a member you need a proposer and, several, seconders and they are strictly applied.

Drivers - How forgiving is forgiving?

Perhaps I should complicate this further by adding that when I had my lessons the pro said my club head speed was just pushing me into stiff shaft territory. My current driver is regular. Would it be worth buying a forgiving driver with stiff shaft and testing the various combinations of T &...

Drivers - How forgiving is forgiving?

I have a 22HC. It was 24.5 at the beginning of the year. It rose from 19 at the start of last year as a result of me developing an uncontrolled slice which put me into all sorts of problems. I had a couple of lessons in Dec & Feb and my slice has gone. I did put the effort in after each...

The Open - demand for a house swap

That's why I am also considering a house-swap. No exchange of cash. The extra insurance is not that much AFAIK.

The Open - demand for a house swap

Thanks guys. I'll have a look at that website. Early days but worth considering.

The Open - demand for a house swap

We live 16-19 miles (depending on which route you take) from Muirfield. I suspect The Open is likely to be held at Muirfield in 2027 or 2028. Although St Andrews may get it as a result of the re-shuffle in 2020/21 due to Covid. I am considering the option of looking to either rent out our...

    Shoes for orthotics

Cheers Paul. I have been using orthotics for 12 years or so with little or no issues. I have been wearing, mostly, Ecco shoes for years - walking, work etc so I bought Ecco golf shoes. However, the toe box is not deep enough to accommodate my orthotics. That said, the Eccos are supportive...

    Shoes for orthotics

I am looking for a new pair of shoes which will be able to take my orthotic insoles. About 12 years ago I developed a Plantar Fasciitis injury. After physio and stretching the long term "cure" was to have orthotic insoles in (most of) my shoes. This has worked very well and until last month...
