    My Swing Speed Journey

You're playing under pressure, in championship conditions (back tees at least), against top amateur talent who’ve come well-prepared for the course. Most of them are young, and about half are from other countries. And then there are players like me—more average 😄. The tournament spans at least...

    My Swing Speed Journey

Hi! I’ve taken a short break from speed training recently due to lack of time. I’ve been prioritizing hitting balls and going to the gym. That said, I still do some speed work once every 1–2 weeks just to maintain my form. I wanted to share a few insights after playing a 3-day World Amateur...

    My Swing Speed Journey

Going to the gym helped with my back. Before, sometimes after playing golf I had a bit of back pain and I noticed that doing squads and certain whole body exercises make me less prone to experience that pain. Also technique is a must, I am a beginner and because of that I avoid certain...

    My Swing Speed Journey

I've seen some of his videos. He's done gym work and a lot of speed training in the past, mainly working on ball speed with a simulator, but also using speed sticks. He's basically explored every possible method to reach 180 mph. What that video shows is just the final step—the swing changes...

Help picking a ball for slow swing speed

I get where you’re coming from, but the ball doesn’t care who’s swinging the club. Even a 10-year-old can produce the same types of shots around the green as the best Tour players—except maybe for bunker shots or high, floating chips, which do require more speed.

Yes, I actually swing faster and more efficiently when I grip the club very firmly (almost 100%) and focus on generating speed early in the swing. Some say that’s a recipe for casting, but in my case, the clubhead never gets ahead of my hands, no matter how hard I try.

Help picking a ball for slow swing speed

The short answer is yes—even a ten-year-old! 😄 If they’re a complete beginner, it’s not as crucial, since they’ll mostly be focused on just making contact with the ball. Or if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option. But a urethane cover makes a real difference in spin around the greens.

Help picking a ball for slow swing speed

No matter which ball you choose, it must have a urethane cover. For the long game, you don’t necessarily need a high-compression ball. In fact, contrary to popular belief, using one won’t hurt your performance—even if you’re not a high-speed golfer. So, if cost isn’t a concern, a premium tour...

    My Swing Speed Journey

Thanks! I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to do it and maybe I’ve been doing it all along when just trying to maximize speed. You definitely saved me a lot of thinking and a major headache!:D

It's worth noting that to achieve that same early peak in speed, you have to apply significantly more force in a shorter range of motion.

I think the ideal parameters vary depending on each person’s swing characteristics. However, some things seem generally true, for example, a strong grip tends to favor speed. I believe that’s because you don’t have to consciously (or even subconsciously) work to square the clubface at impact...

    My Swing Speed Journey

Nice graph! I didn’t know something like that existed. In my case, my driver is relatively fast, cruising at around 114 mph, while the red stick is relatively slow at just under 120 mph compared to the green one, which is above 130 mph. No wonder I was told I was hitting the driver quite fast...

Do not use ChatGPT for things like that, it could say its optimal to do 80/20, 20/80 or burpees with mortal jumps if you make the adequate question. ChatGPT is not a source of knowledge, but rather model that generate human-like text based on patterns. It doesn't possess factual knowledge or...

    My Swing Speed Journey

I’ve started bringing my PRGR radar to practice rounds to track my driver swing speed more consistently. The last time I used it on course, I had to swing really hard just to hit 110 mph. Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to see some effortless-feeling swings reaching 114 mph. These swings...
