Are you allowed to do that? You're not supposed to in Ireland... but it doesn't stop anyone. I'm aiming for the 8th hole at Narin & Portnoo.
Really liked Irvine BTW
No, it was a first visit. I'm told the changes are extremely good and that there are now no weak holes. I was also told that the course/resort was pretty much dead on its feet if a certain someone hadn't bought it and pumped in millions of pounds.
Been to a few Irish courses in recent days... autumn colour is everywhere and the still conditions and sunshine have meant it's been a particularly good year... although not so much if your ball disappears under all those leaves.
Saw there was a thread up for 'Trump International' already... but then realised it was for the Scottish creation.

It can't be easy for...
There are over a dozen of these events around Ireland (I play the Atlantic Coast Challenge every year) but the Great North Links offers the highest ranked courses and the entry fee is amazingly good value. The only other comparative event (in terms of high profile courses) is the Great Irish...
I'd agree about the clubhouse... but then who goes to a golf course for the clubhouse. It's nice inside having said that, and gives a good view over the 18th green and 1st tee from the bar.
As for the course, 'uninteresting' is not a word I would use to describe it. It's often difficult to get...
Tralee is something else, for sure, but so is nearly every links on the south west and west coast.
As for the Atlantic Coast Challenge - I've played it every year and don't play it as a competition. I have a mate who comes back from New York for it and we just use it as a few days of golfing...
