+1 to this. This was exactly my experience when I played with a couple of scratch golfers (actually one was +1, the other +2) - 1 round with each. Yes, their ball striking was exemplary but they rarely put themselves in any trouble, hit lots of GIR and made a high % of putts. They also were...
I'm guessing this is a bit tongue-in-cheek? Contacting the HSE is the nuclear option...unless of course you've spoken to the club and been ignored. Is this just your opinion or a view shared by many?
I doubt he would take it:
(a) because if he's determined enough and mentally strong enough to firstly make it as a tour pro and then win Majors, then he will want to succeed as part of the Nike deal; and
(b) if he went back to Titleist and the problems didn't disappear (i.e. they are more...
I'm currently torn between using the trusty old G5 driver and my newer old G10 17* 4 wood off the tee. I love the feeling of hitting a big booming drive straight down the middle and as I've worked on accuracy and technique a lot over the past few months, I'm hitting more fairways regardless of...
Well I spent most of the morning foursomes just watching, cleaning the chosen club and lining up/confirming the line on the occasional putt. Not much value add from me but I got a lot out of it in terms of seeing where the top guys save shots. And surprise surprise, it's from 100 yards in and...
Edinburgh Jimmy - that's hilarious!
And yes, I don't see myself offering a constant stream of advice - more the bag carrying/club cleaning approach I think!
Ive had quite a bit of time on my hands this year (gardening leave since November 28th) and have really worked hard on getting my handicap down, including a full club and swing analysis, lessons and loads of practice and competitive rounds. Whilst I have made decent progress, I was amazed how...
Well I am caddying for one of our club's better players in a county pairs matchplay comp tomorrow so I'll let you k ow how it goes! My opinion is that a caddy will be beneficial not so much for better green reading, shot selection etc but for the moral support that can be given during the...
Links, then heathland then parkland for me.
I just find links golf makes me think more about my shots, which is why I find it more enjoyable/challenging. That said, if the wind is really up and making a mockery of most shots, then I would probably choose a heathland course.
Started at 14.2, now 10.3. Was as low as 9.7 but didn't believe I deserved that low a handicap and thus played badly. Have got my belief back now and currently playing to 10 so I've arrested the slide. Hoping to kick on again soon!
