If you read the Sunday Telegraph today it sounds like a complete waste of time to me. There's nobody watching - 400 max and some groups as little as 6 people!! What's the point in that. There's more watch us tee off on a Saturday afternoon.

I've just bought a couple of Cobra Baffler Hybrids 20 & 23 degrees of a mate and I can honestly say they are the easiest clubs in the bag to hit.

Played Vicars Cross GC last year, day before the open at Hoylake - it's a very good layout and was in superb condition when we played it. It has some very good holes and had a friendly clubhouse atmosphere.

Never heard of that one before - just looked it up 'Portuguese Caddy' Each player is allowed to move the ball without penalty by kicking it. Specify a number of Portuguese Caddies allowed per person per round.

There's one at our's who's been caught and warned but apparently he's still at it. He's being watched - it's a pity really cos otherwise he's a nice guy.

In general, I believe most golfers would rather be told if they are inadvertantly breaking a rule. My problem is more about people who are cheating by preferring there lie in the rough, march after it as quick as possible and give it the 'leather wedge' treatment!

Are the 'leather wedge brigade' on the increase? Do you have your suspicions about fellow members? How come when we hit it in the rough we get a bad lie, yet 'you know who' can get his hybrid to it every time, or are all of us just unlucky when dealing with the rough as it is this year? And...
