I just bought a Taylormade Spider Tour X putter. It's my first new putter in over twenty years. It replaces an Odyssey White Hot Tour. It's a big change as I used "Anser" type putters for decades. My first round with it today was pretty good. I had thirty three putts with only one three putt. I...
Well, my top five just changed. Hey! I can change my mind. I started this thread. So, Rose just replaced Jason Day. Day is now #6 and Rosie is 4th. I hope todays performance means he's certainly ready for the second major. I will be pulling hard for him at Augusta. He has played well there many...
Back when I was working I was the top salesman one year. They gave me a plastic trophy. I thanked them but put on a back shelf in my office closet. My manager questioned why I didn't display it. I told him the next time they wanted to reward my efforts give me a golf store gift card. I few years...
I'm so glad to see some of these guys are leaving or at least thinking about leaving LIV. Frankly, Rahm and Hatton are the only two I want to come back. I know a lot of people like DeChambeau but I could not care less about him.
TEHRAN on Apple TV. It's really good. I know it's fiction but my guess is it accurately reflects life in Iran. Unfortunately, we're seeing some similar tactics here in the US.
The acting is spot on and sometimes it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys.
He is unquestionably the best right now. His game is almost boring to watch because he hardly ever puts himself in situations requiring miraculous shots. When he does miss a green he holes out just about as often as he gets up and down. A year or so ago his putting was suspect. That is no longer...
These posts are all very interesting and I've learned a lot. I'm 76 with two torn rotator cuffs, but can still play. Obviously, it's taken a while to overcome my ego about personal distances. Playing the same course for over forty years, I still remember playing a driver and six iron into our...
From what I've read mallets work best for straight back and straight through strokes. Anser types perform better for player who either "cut" or "hook" putts.
That makes sense to me.
I'm really intrigued by the TM Spyder, but after years of putting with an Anser type I'm afraid that drastic of a change won't work. I tend to agree it's not the club but the player. I've been a really good putter throughout my golfing career. I still putt well today, hardly ever three putt but...
After using the same Odyssey White Hot putter for over twenty years, I'm thinking it's past time for an upgrade. While I still favor getting a Anser type blade like my White Hot I'm open to maybe a mallet.
I see more and more players both on tour and at my club putting with Taylormade, Scottie...
