    Best course in Bristol area?

Just to throw another course near Bristol into the mix Mendip Springs is nice. 5 par 5's and quite a bit of water make it a good test. I also played Weston last Sunday and the greens are superb! The caravan park is no more (it's been bought by a local guy who hated it) so, whilst you still have...

Using a stand bag with a trolley

I always use bungee cords as I got fed up of tightening the straps just after the bag had fallen off. I probably look like a muppet but then, if anyone saw me put, that wouldn't come as a shock :smirk:

    Shot a 73 gross (on a par 73)

Very nice, congraulations. Shame about not getting the win but got to be happy with par.

First port of call for back problems? GP?

I herniated a disk a few years back and was in a bad way (couldn't move for best part of a month). Went to see a chiropractor (£30 per session x 20 sessions) who managed to sort me out but it took a good 6 months before I could get swing a club again. Believe me it's far better to get it...

What is your favourite time of the day to play?

There's nothing better than being one of the first out on the course so anything around 7am is great. I love it if you get to the first green and there's dew on the grass and noone has been on there. Plus it means i can get a round in before spending the rest of the day with the family.

Congratulations. I'd love to get into single figures but that's a way off yet.

    Best weekend of golf??

Managed to go round a course that I'd never played before (Brandhall GC) and posted my best score of 92 withouot losing a ball. Might not be world class but I was happy.

    Who is Angelo Spagnolo?....Legend

I'd agree with that. In some ways that would class as his most consistent shot wouldn't it. Fair shout to him mind, he didn't launch one of his clubs or throw a hissy fit. I'd have lost it when the rules official pulled him up.

    Who is Angelo Spagnolo?....Legend

I have been sent this link and, if nothing else, it confirms that my game could be worse! In 1986, Golf Digest held its "Worst Avid Golfer" competition. They grouped up four terrible golfers and had them play one of the toughest courses in the World - TPC Sawgrass. A golfer by the name of...

Could you play without a Driver?

Being a high handicapper I decided not to use my driver for a couple of years and, whilst my consistency off the tee improved, I felt alot of pressure on my second shot and was struggling so I decided to bring it back. Now i'm hitting it quite well but i decide if I need to use it on each hole...

What do you look for in a club?

I've not been able to play the course, and I think it's a bit pricey, but Hagley GC has lovely practice facilities which I can highly recommend. Might be worth a look but I wouldn't be surprised if the membership was a bit spicey.

    What would you do when..........??????

I'd have to have a word...mind you, if he followed my line on the green he'd soon realise I don't know where it's going so maybe I'd have to return the favour!

What is your preferred layup yardage?

If it's safe i try to get it as close as i can and if not then anything around the 100-120 mark is ok. If i get left with a 1/2 or 3/4 stroke i put a blob on the card and move on ;)

Golf Society - Worth the effort??

I set up a society for the pub that I used to run and it was great. Getting to play different courses and sort out the social side of it as well was really rewarding, but don't expect to get much thanks for it (not that that should be why you do it). It can take up as much or as little time as...
