    Newcastle Game?

It would appear that Sharpley is open, a nice new course with good drainage between Seaham & Houghton le spring (on the border of County Durham & Sunderland)

Golfing goals for the new year

How many of our aims are realistic? I concur with Crow, hitting drivers etc for the sake of it, rather than strategic player does not always help one's score & handicap!

Golfing goals for the new year

I'm with Oddsocks - my personal best is 9 over par; i reckon there is one course where 6 over is very doable. Also, same as hapless hacker, not to dwell on a previous shot, concentrate on the here & now, do the best from each given shot. I aspire to get to around 11 handicap by the end of...

Londons 1 million up in smoke

How do you know it wasn't sponsored? Bah humbug!

Macdonald Cardrona - Nr Peebles in Scottish Borders

I played there a few year's back; me & her indoors had a cheap overnight package (with her having the spa option). Quite liked it (but then I hadn't played a wide range of courses at that point in time). I recall the holes now you have described them especially short 2nd with a steep hill near...

    Top 5 Courses

You can tell I haven't played the same 'quality - big names' as yourselves? Here goes - no particular order: Cardrona (Peebles) Slaley Hall - Hunting Slaley hall - Priestman Matfen Hall Whickham

who is the worst major winner?

All had to play better than the field to win it. Probably Paul Lawrie was luckiest (rather than worst) due to Van der Velde's capitulation

is there anyone on here that is actually managing to get a game?

craw, last time i heard the snow falling off the roof, the damned gutter came off as well! £180 later!

Am I glad that it is lashing down with rain?

No sign of rain or significantly above zero temperatures in the next week to be able to get a game in. I played on Nov 18th at Matfen in decent conditions, then December 14th at Longhirst in very cold, but very decent course conditions at Longhirst. Guess it will be a couple of weeks at least

    online or high street ?

As with RGDave, plenty of bargains on the net for us & the kids for CD's, DVD's, books, Wii, DS games etc. However cannot guarantee that they are all in stock & still waiting for 1 DS game. Just have to blame Santa for not meeting all his Key Performance indicators lol. Also with are the...

Who else is having such a great time?

Well, our 11 year old daughter has been very weak since the beginning of November, and can hardly walk on her own (been in hospital for a while); and today was in a state with herself & whacked me in the head with a placemat. I thought she had broken my glasses, but just got a big gash on the...

    Giving for Xmas

Well, we've all enthused about what we wish to receive for Xmas, but what are you giving? (either materially or otherwise). For me, I'm about to set off for a 240 mile round trip to my birthtown in South Yorkshire to visit my Dad who is placed in a psychiatric unit. It will drain further...
