As a Chartered Civil Engineer I couldn't agree more. The role described by the OP is an electrician. Some may find that insulting but no more insulting than calling him an engineer.

Gotcha: their relocation to Swanwick. They still employ plenty of people at Heathrow. In addition to the other 250,000 people directly or indirectly employed there.

Struggling to see your point about NATS. They still deliver air traffic services at Heathrow and many other major airports in the UK and in Spain as well.

We went for the cheap option and didn't pay for a castle view. We were on the fifth floor a few doors down too! Lovely place to stay. I've stayed with work a few times and took the OH there last year. We enjoyed it that much we went back this year.

Apex International? We were there a couple of weeks ago, lovely hotel.
