Use driver on either 3 or 4 holes at my course depending on wind. 3 wood on 2 or 3 others, and irons off th rest. Only because my course is very short and tight.
On other courses I definitely take irons off the tee much more than most, but it completely depends on the hole, length, amount of...
I second this 100%. A lot of the stuff he talks about is obvious, but he presents it very well, with some interesting stories and anecdotes to go with it. Unfortunately, while obvious, it is a lot easier to read about than to actually put into practice.. But I genuinely believe that if you can...
Of course if you could somehow manage to add 30 yards to your drives this would help your game (you will end up, on average, between 5-15 yards closer to the target/pin after your second shot, depending on the shot distance) but that extra proximity to the hole is useless without a decent short...
As much as I love the feel of blades when you strike them (especially Mizunos) I would never consider them as you just lose too much forgiveness on off centre hits..
I use forged cavity backs and you can hit one off th toe or thin and still end up on the green.. with blades those shots usually...
I've played with these shafts for about 7 years and love them, but like others have said they will probably not be suited to all swings..
I wouldn't buy any clubs on eBay without at least hitting a few balls with the shaft somehow.. I know it's not always possible but at least try to get your...
I'm no fan of Trump but I had the opportunity to play Trump Links at Ferry Point in New York last week and didn't think twice about doing it... And I'm definitely glad I did. Say what you like about the man but he does know how to put together a world class golf course.
Fair enough if it makes...
Did 9 holes in 45 minutes once with my dad in a buggy in Florida when I was younger. Course was deserted obviously. Had played 18 in the morning already but my mum and sister were still out shopping or whatever so took the opportunity to sqeeze another 9 in before they got back!
My dad taught me to play golf when I was 8 years old and I have been playing with him ever since. I am very lucky to have a great relationship with my dad and the golf course is where we have done most of our bonding. I don't think that anyone can annoy me on the course as much as him and I know...
I tried a belly putter for the first time on the course at the end of November and haven't even considered going back since. With my old putter I started struggling with short putts due to some yippiness with my wrists but the belly putter completely takes them out of the equation and my short...
Broadwater Park is a little par 3 course in between Guildford and Godalming, no more than 5 minutes drive, and it has a driving range which I think is floodlit. Its not the best range in the world and I'm not sure what time its open until, but might be worth checking out...
Without a doubt it's the opening drive I hit while played with Rory McIlroy. Wrote about it already in the "golf pictures" section of the forum but not surprisingly it's a story I am not yet bored of telling! (though you soon may be bored of hearing about it!)
It was on the 1st tee at Port...
Because everyone has got better at it. Bobby Jones achievements were incredible in his time, but put him in todays era and he'd struggle to win a tournament.
Tiger actually would have achieved what Luke achieved this year 7 times (you missed out 2001...) but I don't think that fact takes away from how incredible Lukes achievement is, I think all it does is put into perspective how ridiculous Tiger Woods's achievements are.
What Luke did this year...
