Just to put the Nail in the coffin...
D4 setting... The point being OPTIMISATION of launch angle and spin for maximum distance.
And.. If it's windy, lets grip down and swing smoother..
Hell no!!
Setting A1. Spin rate decreased, swing as normal and keep the clubhead speed up.
Got a new D2 a few days ago and got fitted.
Had 909Dcomp excon 6 stiff before. Launch 21degrees, ball speed 136mph. Over 3000 spin distance 240 yards total.
Fitted D2. Launch 17 degrees. 147 mph. Spin 2900. Distance 260+
'nuff said.
Have had them for over a year. Excellent clubs with classic looks. Amazing soft buttery feel and consistency in distance. Is usually a club shorter than GI irons.
I think where they really excel is using the short irons for chip and pitch shots. The feedback is amazing and easy to feel the...
I had exactly the same problem as you. I had a yonex 10.5 regular shaft and on a windless day or with the wind behind it was very good. However, into the wind my shots would ballon up into the sky robbing me of distance. I would have to play a lower punchier shot in order to tee off.
I paid for...
would you
a)splash out on flashy new irons for xmas and join a 'regular' £500-600pa golf course
or b) join the celtic manor and have access to their 2 courses for the year with ryder cup tickets.
I've come to my sense that new irons don't improve my game. So I may opt for b)
A year ago I would be happy with 18 over and since I've consistently gotten down to low teens, things have changed. Last week I shot a 4 over and a 7 over for the first time in my life.
But, this week I'm shooting back into my low to mid teens and I'm now very critical on myself- throwing...
Warm up before a round- walk from car to 1st tee. For me this is the hardest shot of the round. One of my golf ing aims is to be able to crawl out of bed after a big night out, walk to the 1st tee and whack a thundering drive. If you have this- you're sorted.
Warm up at the range- hit some...
I have exactly the same problem. My off shots are either pushed or occasionally hooked or hit flat.
As mentioned above there could be a number of reasons
1) ball too far back
2) standing too close to the ball (leading to blocked right hip
3) swing plane too flat (take away too far inside the...
I am doing my own research- most of the courses abroad on the web have a handicap recommendation. However on discussion with golf travel agents (golftravel.com) they say that as long as you're dressed appropriately and not playing slow thay don't ask.
Asking for help to clarify things so I...
I'm planning on a golf holiday with the wife comem july.
I have an official CONGU handicap of 18 and have (with some persuasion, perseverance and NLP) gotten my wife into golf. She can hit the ball reasonably well and drives 150 yards. She does'nt have a handicap cert.
We're looking for...
Golf lessons are most beneficial to my game and I believe to anyone's game. There's a great article in golf world by Buch Harmon on when you should make swing changes. http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/2009/03/harmonrules
A few months ago i was suffering from a terrible slice with my driver. I...
I'm contemplating changing my driver (with the new R9 it's hard not to thinkabout it). Thing is, I love the yonex nanospeed i I have already.
A month ago, I went to my local driving range and the pro there put me on the lauch monitor with my existing driver and noted that the flex, lauch angle...
I made a revelation this weekend.
I'm a pretty standard iron player and can hit 8 irons 150 and 3 iron 210. This is with custom fitting of my irons.
The problem I have had recently was that my 3 wood and driver distances were only 220 and 230 to 240 yards respectively and although enough to...
