We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Thanks for your reply Imurg, it's my second ace but it felt all the sweeter since it was on a short driveable par four, so it was my first ever albatross! :D
Just a bounce game, one of the guys I know joined me for the last ten holes so yes, I have a witness!
Regarding the conformity.... I'd played the first 16 holes from the yellow tees. We'd gotten to the 17th, where the white tees were located only around 10-12 yards back from the yellows...
As the title says. Be it a simple swing thought (or two...), a technical instruction, a putting tip or whatever it may be.
For me, it was to visualise a 2nd ball in front of the ball I was striking. Helped me get through the ball a lot better. Secondly? Keep the head down over the short putts...
Completely forgot I had this club, it's a Tommy Armour 845 v-31 60° wedge. I'm guessing 1980s. Has a lovely Lamkin grip, but the grooves look like they've seen better days! How would one go about determining the correct groove sharpening tool to give it a new lease of life?
The rod in the bottom pic is actually broken, I've carefully placed it to look as if it's in one piece solely so as it can be recognised. It's not hollow and is probably cast iron. Top pic, white trolley, the other rod (not in view) has a slight bend caused by a knock.
If able to source the...
The unattached one in the pic I've posted is from a Crivit trolley, and the white trolley with rod in place is (I think) a Fazer trolley. Have tried searching under both names.
Looking to see if a replacement part can be sourced, have tried in vain by Googling "push trolley axle rod" and similar terms but with no joy yet. The part itself is 5 maybe 6" in length, with a thread at one end and hooked at the other, and fits at least 2 or 3 generic different-name same-build...
Lots of great suggestions in this thread, many of which I've been meaning to pick up. I'm a fan of sporting autobiographies in general: any recommendations on professional golfers' autobiographies (not instructionals) as I feel it's maybe a genre which has been slightly overlooked here...
Not at all. Read the thread: I merely posed the question "Should they offer refund" due to the fact that at the time of posting, they couldn't offer anything - either in-store or online that was suitable both in terms of shoe size & budget - as a replacement. As mentioned, I've since settled on...
Very classy player, and shone again in yet another victory against the wee team! :) Best player in the league outwith the Old Firm by a long way. Great business from Hearts to tie him up. (y)
Looking at Scheffler's demeanour during the 3rd round, he did look very relaxed and unflustered. Impressive for a guy who's in uncharted territory in terms of having a significant lead in a Major. Avoided what could easily have been doubles at 12 & 18. Let's see what he's made of if he has a...
I have - and you've a good point to be fair! Add in the green-to-tee walks (admittedly short at my course), ball searching for both my own and playing partners' balls, cross-fairway trekking for wayward tee shots (occasionally ;)) and it does all add up!
'tis often true. I did actually look online at a pair, and they do look to be very well built. Ecco Golf Biom G3, very stylish too.
Now I don't want to clog up the board with a "golf shoe reccomendations thread", so I'll ask here: People's thoughts on Skechers? I've now seen a pair on AG's...
